Abstract
The article deals with the creation of the Soviet system of public education in Uzbekistan. The prerequisites, forms, and methods used to accomplish this task are analyzed. The influence of communist ideology on the formation of public education in the republic according to the Soviet model and the elimination of illiteracy is also considered.
