Abstract
A buried optical fiber sensor that can be detected over a large area per unit length was designed and manufactured, and study was conducted on the signal characteristics according to the load of an external intrusion object. The optical fiber used was designed and manufactured for external intrusion detection that generated bending loss of the optical fiber using a single mode optical fiber for general optical communication with a length of 4 km. This study investigated the change in the output of the optical fiber sensor and the change in the sensor output signal and detection signal owing to the invasion of external intruders according to the width of the pulse pumping light. Therefore, when changing the width of the pulse pumping light, the minimum detectable conditions according to the detection of external intruders were investigated. Finally, a monitoring technique was presented by developing a signal processing algorithm for an optical fiber sensor.
