Abstract

The welding of thick steel plates is an important process in the manufacture of pressure vessels, and submerged arc welding (SAW) is mainly used as the welding method. In this study, the impact strength according to welding conditions of SAW was confirmed through numerical analysis. Numerical analysis was performed using the ANSYS mechanical. Thermal analysis was carried out by applying heat input for each welding condition, and the impact strength was confirmed by applying residual stress to the numerical analysis of the impact test. As a result of the numerical analysis, it is considered that it can be used as basic data for analyzing the impact strength of welded steel.
