Abstract

Improving procedural legislation is an important component of increasing the level of protection of human rights and freedoms in our state. The main goal of legal proceedings is to protect the rights and freedoms of a person and a citizen (plaintiff, defendant, third parties, victim, accused, etc.). Achieving this goal is possible only with the active actions of citizens whose rights affect a particular process. Therefore, the urgent question is: to what extent current legislation provides an opportunity for individuals, participants in procedural legal relations, to defend their own rights, determining proper and possible behavior. The aim of the work is to analyze the status of citizens in the process of legal proceedings as subjects of legal activity.
