Abstract

A review of studies on the features of the hemostasis system in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), the relationship between hypercoagulable disorders and PCOS, including on the background of additional risk factors. The data on the risk of venous thromboembolic complications in patients with PCOS at different age periods against hormonal contraception and in ART programs are presented. The possible role of hypercoagulable disorders in the prevention of pregnancy in patients with PCOS is discussed. The data on the impact of PCOS on total life expectancy and on the main causes of death in case of this disease are also provided.
