Abstract

The study aims to provide an outline of the Tuvan culture’s pedagogical system, which is undergoing transformation in the face of globalisation. The article reviews the concept of ancient paideia from the viewpoint concerning the education of a polis citizen. The research is novel in that it analyses the two systems in particularity which reveals a great variety and complexity of the conditions under which they function. As a result, commonalities of the Tuvan and the ancient Greek cultures, as well as principal differences between the two pedagogical systems were discovered. The changes which are to take place in the education system of the Tuvan culture are drafted.
