Abstract

The article analyzes the links between the indicators of the shadow economy and the indicators of economic security of the country. To carry out this analysis, the correlation analysis technique was used. Eight indicators characterizing the shadow economy have been identified. The indicators characterizing the threat of criminalization, the threat of unemployment, labor productivity, the threat of poverty of the population, the replenishment of the state budget are determined. The analysis confirmed the hypothesis about the negative impact of the shadow economy on: crime, the level of poverty of the population, labor productivity and replenishment of the state budget. An alternative point of view about the positive impact of the shadow economy on economic security in terms of neutralizing such a threat as unemployment is confirmed.
