Abstract

The article analyzes the change in the social status of women in the context of the socio- political, economic and socio-cultural transformations that occurred during the transition from traditional to modern society. For a long time, the place and role of women was assigned to the care of the household and the reproduction of the family as the guardian of the family hearth. In turn, the formation of democratic statehood, the intensive development of the economy contributed to the expansion of women's rights, but did not, in general, solve the problem of gender inequality. The authors of the scientific article tried to take a conceptual look at the problem of the gradual emancipation of Kyrgyz women, considered taking into account the factors of the socio-cultural and political development of society.
