Abstract

The research was carried out to assess the resistance of spring barley varieties to chloride and sulfate salinization in laboratory conditions. The object of the study was the varieties of spring barley Volga 65, Volga 49 and Volga amber. Solutions of NaCl, Na2SO4 with osmotic pressure of 1MPa were used to simulate salinization conditions; control – distilled water. Based on the evaluation of spring barley varieties by germination on different-quality salt solutions, the Volga 65 variety has the highest seed germination (11...98%) for all types of salinization. And according to morphological indicators, the Volga amber variety turned out to be more salt-resistant to all types of salinization.
