Abstract

The article provides analysis of the ethno-social problems and dynamics of inter-ethnic relations in a multi-ethnic city. The paper is based on the comparative data of two ethno-sociological studies conducted among the KAMAZ employees (Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan) in 1990 and 2014. The research reveals no changes in the socio-ethnic structure of the workers` team; however, the transformation of public opinion is observed which is largely due to the changes in the overall socio-political situation in the country. Compared to 1990, today we are witnessing a higher level of inter-ethnic tolerance in multi-ethnic Tatarstan.
