Abstract
본 연구는 양성평등 의식이 동성애에 대한 태도에 어떤 영향을 미칠 것인지를 분석하였다. 대구지역의 4년제 대학생들을 대상으로 수집된 설문지를 분석한 결과, 나이가 어릴수록, 자연계열에 비해 인문계열의 학생들이, 개신교도에 비해 종교가 없는 학생이, 그리고 남학생보다는 여학생의 양성평등 의식이 통계적으로 유의미하게 높았다. 이러한 변수들을 동시에 통제하고 동성애 수용성을 종속변수로 한 다중회귀분석에서는 양성평등 의식이 동성애 수용성에 독립적이면서도 가장 큰 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 사회 구성원들의 양성평등 의식이 향상됨에 따라 남녀의 성역할에 대한 전통적인 고정관념이 점차 허물어지고, 이와함께 동성애자들에 대한 수용성도 아울러 확장될 수 있을 것이라는 점을 시사한다.
