Abstract

The status of Jerusalem in the three monotheistic religions is a very important talking point. After Israel had occupied Palestine —including Jerusalem— it was clear how Jewish incursion deployed on the holy city. As a result, Judaization began gradually to take place while the mention of the Temple and rebuilding it in Jerusalem was increasing. In addition, they glorified Jerusalem for zionists showing it as the holiest city for Jews in the world.
This research is to identify the truth of what was mentioned in the Old Testament books about Jerusalem. It emphasizes that Jerusalem is an Arab Jebusite city where Bani Israel entered and lived with Jebusites in peace. The Torah mentions that Jerusalem is a city of impurity, fornication, idolatry, and blood-shedding; thus, its residents of Bani Israel are disobedient and suffer from God’s wrath. Therefore, it is important to elaborate on how Jews’ interest in Jerusalem is political, not religious as they claim.
