Abstract
The article analyzes regional methods and mechanisms of influence of religious organizations on the political process in the subjects of the Russian Federation. The author uses a synthesis of postsecular and neo-institutional approaches to identify real, rather than declarative, tools for the participation of religious organizations in public policy. The article examines the situation in the Republic of Dagestan, Buryatia, as well as practices in the Saratov and Pskov regions. The author provides successful examples of the participation of religious figures in regional and municipal elections. The practice of religious actors carrying out collective actions with political demands based on religious practices is also revealed. Also, an introduction is made that religious organizations, as institutions of civil society, participate in councils under the heads of subjects, councils under state authorities and in the work of regional public chambers to solve socially acute problems.
