Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the place of S. Bandera's figure in modern ones Ukrainian history textbooks, on the one hand, is important in context scientific discussion on the mission of historical education in building civic education society, on the other, draws attention to one of the most prominent and uneven personalities in the domestic past. Research based on a program and history tutorial from attraction of general scientific and special historical (historical-comparative, historical-typological, historical-genetic) methods, is based on the principles of scientific objectivity, historicism, systematicity.Analysis of textbooks showed that during the 1990–2000-th the attention to the figure of S. Bandera expanded from the mention of his name in two years the stories about the split of the OUN and the proclamation of the «Act of Recovery. Of the Ukrainian State» June 30, 1941 – and a portrait image of quite deep as the textbook format allows, analyzing its role in single OUN (b), fairly detailed biographical information and definitions its impact on the deployment of the National Resistance Movement during World War II. The most detailed description is given in the publications of authorship O. Strukevich and M. Mudry and O. Garkush. It is significant that among the compilers textbooks are dominated by scientists and lecturers of HEA, among them Researchers who work in depth on Ukrainian issues liberation movement. At the same time it attracts the attention of a very curious coverage the life and activities of S. Bandera from 1944 until his death. All in all the textbooks pay little attention to the Ukrainian diaspora in the second half of the twentieth century, which narrows the idea of both the history of Ukrainian and Ukrainian liberation movement, which continued throughout the Soviet era.
