Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors inf luencing energy development locations and how they affect electricity demand in order to better formulate strategies for efficient energy development. Research design, data, and methodology: This research used the VAR econometric model to analyze the impact of these factors on the generation and grid capacity of four power sources (wind, solar, hydro, and thermal) from 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across China. Results: There is a linear positive correlation between the four power sources’ generation and grid capacities and economic factors, resource factors, and policy factors. Conclusions: This paper contributes to balanced energy development policies, broadens research perspectives, enhances public understanding, and serves as a valuable reference. Its findings carry significant theoretical and practical implications for scholars, researchers, and policymakers alike.
