Abstract
The article reflects the main functions of banks: storing money, providing loans, money transfers, etc. The author examines the mechanisms that are used by banks to perform tasks, such as maintaining financial stability, controlling inflation and ensuring liquidity in the market. This paper presents the main factors influencing the development of shadow banking in Russia: the complexity of the procedures for obtaining a banking license, the lack of adequate control by government agencies, the underdevelopment of the financial infrastructure, including the lack of electronic payment systems and the low quality of banking services, the low level of financial literacy of the population - and approaches to solving these problems are analyzed.
