Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate the economic efficiency of contact network modernization project for the railway section of the St. Petersburg - Baltiyskaya power supply distance of the Oktyabrskaya Railway (OR). The study subject is the operation protocol for contact network modernization. Methods: Analysis basic methods are applied — target indicator statistical analysis of electrified section specific weight in the total operational length of public railway tracks; target indicator statistical analysis of railway line electrification. Results: The modernization of electrification technologies on the railway section of “St. Petersburg-Baltiyskiy” OR railway distance is justified. Implementation main stages for contact network modernization project are systematized. Economic effect being obtained from electrification technologies modernization is determined. Practical importance: The obtained results represent an applied character since they propose and justify measure series aimed at servicing effectiveness raise for the railway section servicing of the St. Petersburg-Baltiyskiy OR railway power supply distance.
