Abstract

The paper proves the increased need for modernisation and adaption of Russian education to global innovations in the field of education and upbringing. It clarifies the essence of informational learner-centred humanistic educational paradigm as a modern model of innovative learning; discusses the problem of implementation of values-based rational educational component in distance learning process. The author reveals the essence of “cynical humanism” in which humanistic ideas of truth, kindness, and beauty are assimilated through the education system based on such aspects as usefulness, benefit, convenience, and comfort. “Positive humanism” is concidered as a basic principle in the historical tradition of the Russian classical school with the idea of unity of education and upbinging which aim is to develop intellectual, moral, aesthetic and physical potential of the individual.
