Abstract

Banks in modern conditions are one of the main components of a market economy, since it is precisely through their activities that any economic activity carried out both in the financial system and in other areas of the market economy can be organized. Most types of banking activities are carried out under the influence of various types of risks, which most often negatively affect not only the results of banks, but also their very condition. For this reason, actions during which the search, control and management of all types of banking risks are carried out are necessary for most of the participants in economic relations between banks and other market entities. Credit risk is currently the main type of banking risks involved in lending activities. For this reason, the level of efficiency of all banking activities largely depends on the quality of this risk management. The article will analyze the essence of credit risks and their impact on the activities of commercial banks.
