Abstract

The research aims to identify episodes or individual details of the narrative in the novel “The Topeka School” by the modern American writer Ben Lerner that could confirm the presence of components of the American society paradigm noted in the studies of historians, politicians and Americanists. Scientific originality of the research lies in the fact that it analyses one of the few literary works presenting an authentic assessment of America’s image through the eyes of Americans themselves, which complements academic works and contributes to the formation of a clearer critical view of the world order. As a result, the researcher has identified most of the established stereotypes about modern American society in the novel.
