Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the measures taken to implement the state national policy of the Russian Federation in modern conditions, carried out based on the results of an expert survey, which was conducted in 8 federal districts. The main factors determining the relevance of the problems of implementing the state ethnic policy are the strategic importance of issues of preserving interethnic harmony for ensuring the national security of Russia and the existing gaps in the legal regulation of the state ethnic policy. The key problems of state nationality policy are identified, including those related to the legislative regulation of nationality policy and interethnic relations in Russia. A number of issues of the state national policy of the Russian Federation have been identified that are not sufficiently regulated at the legislative level, including: the question of the status of the Russian people as state-formers; issues of countering Russophobia, including within Russia itself; formation of state-civil identity based on state patriotism, traditional spiritual and moral values characteristic of all major faiths.
