Abstract

We consider as relevant and necessary involvement of adolescents at risk in socially significant volunteer activities in order to cultivate the qualities of resilience, ensuring the readiness of adolescents to successfully overcome life’s difficulties. Research goal: to develop and empirically test a program for promoting resilience in at-risk adolescents through volunteer activities. The structure of the program for developing resilience in adolescents at risk is formed by six training modules that provide for the inclusion of adolescents in volunteer activities under the guidance of specialists from the rehabilitation center and volunteers of the city volunteer center. The program was tested in the 2022–2023 academic year, the total sample consisted of at-risk adolescents (14–15 years old) in the amount of 107 people with experience of vagrancy, committing crimes, smoking, drinking alcohol, psychoactive substances, living and undergoing comprehensive rehabilitation in two social rehabilitation centers of the Krasnoyarsk Krai. Comparative analysis of diagnostic data was carried out using the χ2 (Chi-square) test of homogeneity. Repeated diagnostics of the level of resilience revealed statistically significant positive changes in the level of manifestation of resilience in adolescents from the experimental group compared to the same indicator in adolescents from the control group.
