Abstract

The paper aims to identify the types and functions of lexical repetitions in N. A. Zabolotsky’s early works (by the example of the collection “Columns”). The article gives the general classification of the functions of lexical repetition. The content of the author’s particular works determines more narrow functional significance of lexical repetition: to reveal the contrast, to display the semantic core of the text, to mark the duration of action, etc. The scientific originality of the research consists in the complex approach to the analysis of N. A Zabolotsky’s poems in terms of lexical repetition. As a result, it has been proved that lexical repetition is an important textual means which demonstrates the creativity of the artist of the word.
