Abstract
The article is devoted to the assessment of environmental and economic damage to land resources. Using the basics of legislation, the state of the issue in the field of causing harm to land resources (soils) is determined. The article shows that the Methodology for calculating the amount of damage caused to soils as an object of environmental protection, approved by the order of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia dated 08.07.2010 N 238 is outdated. Specially authorized bodies, when calculating damage, experience certain difficulties in its application. As a result, the charging efficiency is very low.
