Abstract

The article presents the experience of understanding the images of Venichka and the Kremlin in V. Erofeev’s poem “Moscow — Petushki”. Comparison of the key antithesis of Yerofeev’s poem with the images of Eugene and the Bronze Horseman from the “Petersburg story” by A. Pushkin, Akaky Akakievich, Khoma Brutus, Viy from the stories of N. Gogol, the image of Viy in O. Mandelstam’s “Fourth Prose” reveals the typological relationship of these images in the context archetypal opposition of the “little man” to irresistible omnipotence, the motive of the taboo on “vision”.
