It has been established that there is a small amount of research on the use of elements of physical training from certain sports (wrestling, hand-to-hand combat, weightlifting, etc.) in a military college. The purpose of the study is to justify the use of boxing in physical training of military cadets in order to improve their physical fitness. The content of the boxing program in the sports section has been developed. The study involved first-year cadets (n=50) from College of National Army Academy named after Hetman P. Sahaidachnyi (Lviv), which were divided into experimental (EG, n=25) and control (CG, n=25) groups. The age range of the subjects was the same (17-24 years). The experiment was conducted in three stages. The first stage is the beginning of the first semester. The second stage is the end of the first semester. The third stage is the end of the second semester. The level of their physical fitness was determined before the start of the experiment. Experimental group cadets studied in the section of the boxing academy, control group cadets – according to the traditional system of physical training in military institution of higher education. Development analysis of physical qualities of cadets was carried out on the following exercises: pull-ups, running 100 meters, running 3000 meters. It is established that the level of physical development of cadets who during sports activities were engaged in boxing section, is credibly (p˂0.05) higher than the cadets who were engaged in traditional system of physical training. Boxing classes are more effective in improving physical activity preparedness of cadets and can be recommended for use in the process of physical training in military institution of higher education.
