Abstract
The article attempts to identify the most significant life values and guiding principles of Dagestan youth at the present stage. By the materials of a sociological study conducted by the author in different time periods with the same object, the dynamics of modern Dagestan youth’s value orientations is traced and analysed. The researcher comes to the conclusion that incompleteness and uncertainty of the young people’s value orientation system make the process of socialization, self-identification difficult and can lead to asocial behaviour. The need to develop consistent state policy aimed at supporting young people is highlighted.
