Abstract

The article describes the organizational problems of obtaining additional education for people of the third age in the Republic of Belarus. As a result of a comparison of foreign and domestic practice of organizing lifelong education, the problems of the functioning of the system of additional education for people of retirement age in the Republic of Belarus were identified and ways to eliminate the identified problems were proposed. The empirical basis of the study was normative and legal acts, statistical data. The main recommendations for improving the additional education of pensioners in the Republic of Belarus include: to develop specialized educational programs at educational institutions; to provide state support to non-governmental public organizations that provide free educational services to the elderly; ensure legal regulation of the development of the community of universities of the third age at the state level; involve public organizations and enterprises in the training of people of the third age.
