Abstract

The article discusses the study of the impact of track irregularities on the intensity of rail wear. The relevance of this issue derives from the necessity to develop approaches to reduce the intensity of lateral wear in curves. The objective of this research paper is to estimate the parameters and magnitude of deviations of the track in plan which affect the intensity of rail wear. In order to resolve this issue, modelling methods implemented in the “Universal Mechanism” software environment (UMLoco module) have been used in this paper. The initial data has been obtained as a result of the tachometric transit survey conducted on the Samara – Chelyabinsk route in 2019-2020. The results of this paper include an analysis of the calculated indicators of interaction of the track and rolling stock, particularly, lateral forces and the intensity of rail wear.
