Abstract

The author in this article is the first Governor-General of Turkestan, General K. P. background - Kaufman, Russian researchers M. P. Fedorov, I. Ya. Vatslik, Commander of the Caucasus Military District, Prince Mikhail, Russian Orientalist, Professor N. I. Based on the data of Veselovsky and engineer V.A. Panaev, he analyzes the political goals of tsarism in the second half of the XIX century from the construction of railways connecting Turkestan with the central regions of Russia and reveals its essence. This aspect of the issue directly serves as additional material for the study of the history of Uzbekistan
