Abstract
The article deals with the peculiarities of the existence of the Orthodox philosophical tradition of the 19th century which was formed taking into account the specifics of the Russian religious mentality. At the same time, the influence of European philosophical idealism on domestic spiritual and academic theism is shown. The fact of the phenomenon of religious philosophy or religious philosophy in higher theological schools is noted, while its role in the formation of Orthodox academic ethical and social teaching is determined.
