Abstract

Epidemiological studies show a high prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in women, including pregnants and lactating mothers. Adequate supply of calcium and vitamin D is of paramount importance for the prevention of the gestation course disorders, perinatal complications and development of a number of diseases in a child. Preconceptional preparation and long-term intake of calcium and vitamin D are also necessary in high&risk pregnant groups, most sensitive to impaired adequate calcium intake. For this purpose, it is feasible to use modern vitamin&mineral complexes containing calcium and vitamin D in sufficient quantities.
