Abstract

This paper analyzes the possibility of using the spectral decomposition results for the quantitative prediction of thin layer thickness. The forward wedge-modelling results are considered in order to determine the influence of the thickness of a thin layer on the amplitude response in a band-limited frequency range. A field case of the application of the proposed technique of quantitative spectral decomposition interpretation of the 3D common depth point seismic data is presented.
