Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to study the functioning of socially oriented non-profit organizations (SO NPOs) in the structure of the third sector of the Russian economy, realizing socially significant benefits for society. To achieve the goal, interpretations of the concept of non-profit organizations (NPOs) were generalized and systematized, the main characteristics of their activities were identified, statistical indicators were studied, which made it possible to determine the essence and significance of the functioning of these organizations from the standpoint of public utility. Society is in demand for social benefits that are aimed at meeting the market needs of people. This study is an attempt to answer the question, how can the social benefits demanded by society be realized in modern conditions? This determines the relevance of the scientific article. The research uses the following methods: analysis, generalization and systematization of scientific provisions in the field of functioning and development of non-profit organizations; comparison of the main normative legal acts in the field of the right field of activity of these organizations; analysis of a sample of statistical data revealing the dynamics of indicators of non-profit organizations in quantitative and qualitative aspects. The theoretical contribution of the study is to determine the essence of the activities of socially-oriented non-profit organizations, their structure based on classification by type of activity, justification of the legal field of their activities. From a practical point of view, the contribution of socially-oriented non-profit organizations to the socio-economic development of the country is determined based on the analysis of statistical data. The analysis of indicators of functioning of socially-oriented non-profit organizations in the field of vocational education is carried out. The demand for educational services of various types of NGOs was noted, which has increased many times by 2021. There is a tendency to decrease the number of students enrolled in higher education programs, a significant increase in the number of students enrolled in secondary special education programs, as well as an increase in the number of private organizations of vocational education. The article concludes that SO NPOs operating in the field of vocational education form and develop the human resources potential of the regional economy, influence the situation on the regional labor market, minimize the risks of unemployment and social isolation of people due to low qualifications.
