Abstract

The paper tries to explain why Dzungar Khanate did not manage to establish itself as a leader of the Mongolian world. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that relying on the systemic approach, the author analyzes military-political, socio-economic, cultural and religious aspects of regional leadership. The conducted analysis allows concluding that Dzungar Khanate was not capable to establish its hegemony in Northeastern Asia due to inefficient foreign policy and due to state structure imperfections caused by lack of political, economic, cultural and religious resources.
