Abstract

The article substantiates the scientific significance and relevance of the study of the history of Russian secondary professional school in the pre-revolutionary period. At that time, the number of secondary vocational schools increased dramatically. Their impact on all spheres of the country's life became noticeable and important. The school located at the intersection of the vast majority of modernization processes in the public and social spheres that exerted an active influence on them. The secondary vocational school became a part of the educational revolution that took place in the Russian Empire, acted as a bearer of traditions and a conductor of innovations, a channel and an active participant in modernization changes. The development of secondary vocational education clearly reflected the modernization processes in the country.
