Abstract

To succeed in today's society, students need not only to be educated at school but also to be properly prepared, i. e. they need to master basic skills and key competences such as digital competence, learning skills; initiative and entrepreneurship; cultural awareness and creative expression, etc. One effective method for their development is project work. Projectbased learning is an innovative learning model that changes the concept of teaching itself. This report briefly discusses the main characteristics, stages and advantages of project-based learning, highlights its application in religious education and offers a model of a project on the theme "The temple in my native land" implemented with primary school students studying in the school "Orthodox Christian values and traditions".
