Abstract

By the example of the basic storylines of the Ukrainian fantasy film “The Outpost” (Ukraine, “Kinodel” studio, director Y. Kovalev, 2017), the article examines the key archetypes of the Slavonic XXI-century paganism. Among them, the authors identify the following ones: conceptions of the ethno-oriented Slavonic “Golden Age” (in the movie space: frontier “Rimov”, village “Aistovo”); the original Slavonic administrative system combining elements of military democracy and theocracy (Council of Three Bogatyrs and grandfather Evsey); syncretism of cultic symbolics (simultaneous use of Christian, pagan and neo-pagan symbols within a single ethno-confessional mono-cultural community); sacralization of priests (the sorcerer’s invisibility, his ability to manipulate the space-time continuum, etc.); religious eclecticism (church, the sign of the cross, Veles, Perun, Golem, etc.).
