Abstract

The article is devoted to the problems of classifying translation types. In particular, the author identifies the place of simultaneous translation in this system and analyses its peculiarities. Domestic and foreign linguists suggest different foundations for classifying translation types. The author clarifies them and suggests his own vision of this problem. The originality of the study lies in the fact that the researcher emphasizes the necessity to consider psychological factors influencing a translator’s activity. Special attention is paid to the formation of translators’ stress tolerance for working in different translation situations. In this connection, the author identifies the prospects of studying the biological feedback method as a means to overcome the negative influence of stress in the process of translation.
