Abstract

Based on the bibliographical data, consensus documents, domestic clinical recommendations, the results of the Authors’ own research and their experience in managing of the patients, this lecture represents the information on protracted bacterial bronchitis (PBB) as a common reason for the chronic wet cough in children. The definition and diagnostic criteria of the disease and their improvement during the process of PBB studying are given. The information on epidemiology, etiology and pathogenesis, clinical and laboratory-instrumental diagnostics, differential diagnostics, treatment and consequences of PBB in children is consistently presented as well.
