Abstract

This study attaches importance to the necessity of food therapy. This study verified its impacts on menu selection and behavioral intention at fine dining restaurants. First, food therapy affects menu selection. Especially, it turned out that it had the biggest impact on health factors. There is a tendency of preventing diseases through food and pursuing food therapy. Also, this is a result consistent with the consumers’ behavior of considering health in selecting the menus. Second, food therapy increases behavioral intention. Consumers come to feel satisfied with themselves through food therapy. Thus, the true health pursued by food service consumers should be able to enhance the quality of life. Also, they seek self-satisfaction through food therapy. Third, the properties of menu selection increase behavioral intention. Especially, the tendency of food service consumers who attach importance to health can be found. Also, they pursue differentiated self-satisfaction, consuming luxurious and excellent qualities of fine dining.
