Abstract
The article addresses the problem of assessing the development of coordination abilities of cadets of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Undoubtedly, a great role is assigned to coordination abilities in the activities of a police officer. On a daily basis he has to perform a complex of various physical actions and their consentaneity determines the effectiveness of police service performance. Currently, a number of test tasks initiated by departmental orders and work program of the discipline «Physical Training» are used to analyze physical fitness of cadets. And only shuttle running is used to assess coordination abilities. The need to use other informative test tasks to assess coordination abilities is determined by the service performance requirements. To test the proposed method of assessment, 300 students of the Belgorod Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia named after I.D. Putilin were engaged. Basically, 5th year students took part in the study. In this regard, the aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of a comprehensive test to assess the coordination abilities of cadets. As a result of the conducted research, a comprehensive way of assessing the coordination abilities of cadets was found. Validity assessment of the Gorelov Test showed a high correlation with a number of motor and computer tests for assessing cognitive abilities.
