Abstract

This article presents methods, the integrated application of which is aimed at improving the management of gas emission during underground mining operations. The developed methods are based on the classical laws of gas dynamics and geomechanics, and are supplemented by the results obtained during fundamental research in gas kinetic reaction of gas-bearing coal beds to technological impact. The integrated character is explained by joint application of methods to determine gas-kinetic properties, gas-bearing and gas-dynamic activity of coal seam, methods to predict and monitor methane mobility in the development workings, production faces and mining areas. Application of these methods is aimed at solving mining and technological problems of mines in order to ensure safe operating modes of production faces in terms of the gas factor in conditions of variability of coal bed properties and the state of the rock mass under man-made impact with account for mining and technological conditions.
