Abstract

The research objective includes identifying peculiarities of verbal interaction in such a poorly investigated genre of public communication as TV intellect show by the example of the “Smart Boys and Girls” program on the First Channel. Scientific originality of the paper includes the author’s original approach to studying verbal interaction taking into account parameters of a communicative situation and pragmatic intentions of the addresser and the addressee. Relying on the analysis, the author identifies valuable parameters of a communicative situation, describes linguistic peculiarities of communicants’ speech and shows that they are determined by symmetry/asymmetry of communication and speakers’ pragmatic intentions.
