Abstract

This article examines Nietzsche’s ideas, which are actualized and receive new meaning today in the context of comprehension of the world crisis that has engulfed mankind. Testing the classical model of cognition for strength and seeing the danger of spreading liberalism, Nietzsche made a disappointing diagnosis of Europe-an civilization through the construction of concepts, the semantic depth of which allows us to decipher the cata-strophic events of our time, when humanistic rhetoric acts as a cover for atrocities, and double standards are the norm of morality. Nietzsche’s work, which in many ways influenced the intellectual life of Europe, turned out to be consonant in certain messages of contemporary Russian religious philosophy. The phenomenon of nihil-ism, deeply comprehended by the German thinker as a crisis phenomenon, appears in its new configuration in the 21st century, having lost the pathos of critical strategy, it only illustrates the elimination of the value core of European culture, defining the anthropological and social experience of modernity. The destruction of the his-torical Christian vector of development by nihilistic totalitarianism causes the confrontation and subsequent clash of civilizations.
