Abstract

In the article «Theoretical aspects of formation of communicative competence of future journalists on the basis of linguoculturology»the content on the notions «communicative act», «speech act», «communication», «competency», «competence» is established and thesubstantive content of the terms «communicative competence of a future journalist», «Linguoculturology», «linguocultural competenceof a future journalist» is specified. «Communicative competence» is construed as an accumulated experience, a scope of communicativeknowledge, communicative tasks, skills and competencies enabling creative self-actualization of a journalistic individual in thefield of professional communication, dealing with a wide range of issued creative challenges; as an ability of an individual to speechcommunication and listening skills, which are deemed to be one of the most important personal-and-professional features of journalists.The communicative competence of a future journalist is construed as an intrinsic resource potential, an acquired system of knowledgerequired for efficient communication and situational adaptivity; an array of professionally significant skills essential for prompt andadequate perception of other people’s programs of speech behaviour and the mobile construction of one’s own communicative strategiesrelevant to the aims, scopes, genres and situations of communication; and the convening readiness for communicative activities,proficiency in verbal and non-verbal tools of social behaviour.To implement the linguodidactic provision for developing future journalists’ communicative competence, notably the rhetorizationof the educational process, a scope of information on the rhetorical foundations of journalism was integrated into the teaching andlearning content, since the aforementioned professional field is characterized by a prominent societal value, whereas the journalists’mission is to perform «intersocial» speech functions: informing, controlling and forming public opinion. In the course of the experimentthe students were informed as for the content of such notions as «journalist’s speech»; «professional and individual qualities of ajournalist»; «a journalist as a communicative leader»; «a professional communication environment»; «speech etiquette»; «etiquetteforms of communication».
