Abstract

Objectives This study attempted to explore whether various arts areas in school art can be taught in the curriculum through implications by reviewing the validity of the introduction of the art curriculum, which began discussion in the 2009 revised curriculum standards.
Methods For the study, literature research analyzed the classification of traditional subject areas, the classification system of art areas, and the types of art subject classification in various countries to derive implications for art subject classification. In addition, it was intended to confirm the implications of the introduction of the art curriculum on diversification of the art curriculum by checking the status of the art curriculum from the teaching period of the Korean curriculum to the 2022 revised curriculum standards.
Results The advantage of the curriculum is that it is easy to introduce art areas that reflect the needs of society, and by operating them together with the intensive completion system, students can experience art in depth and highlight the social utility of art. On the other hand, he pointed out that systematic learning of one art area can be difficult as a disadvantage, and that there should be a teacher pool to teach various art genres.
Conclusions First, it is necessary to include various art areas, including music and art, in education within the national-level curriculum. Second, it is necessary to develop a modular curriculum as a method of organizing and operating various art fields in schools. Third, art equipment and facilities that are difficult to support in schools can use art cars. Fourth, by teaching students various art genres, it is possible to help them explore careers that suit their interests and aptitudes.
