Abstract
This article examines characteristic features in the description of the contracted clauses (in German zusammengezogene Sätze) in basic German and Bulgarian grammars. The comparison between the German and the Bulgarian grammatical information allows conclusions to be drawn about their interpretation in the linguistic literature, as well as to reveal some problematic points and ambiguities in their definition.
