The article examines the representation of the value component of the linguo-cultural concept MERCY by means of the English and Russian paremias interpreting mercy as an action. The originality of the study lies in the fact that the author for the first time conducts a comprehensive comparative analysis of the paremiological representation of mercy as an action in the English and Russian linguo-cultures. The research material includes the Russian and English paremias obtained by the method of continuous sampling from monolingual and bilingual phraseological, etymological, explanatory dictionaries, dictionaries of winged words and Internet resources.
