Abstract
This article presents a clinical case of suture purulent infection after lateral episiotomy in a postpartum patient with subsequent secondary intension healing. In 12 months after delivery, a reconstructive plastic surgery was performed to restore perineal integrity and, more importantly, to correct the aesthetic defect of the genital area. An original approach to mucosal flap excision and, accordingly, the use of non-standard access to anatomical structures was proposed. As a result, restoration of perineal anatomy and vulvar ring integrity was achieved. Key words: purulent infection, colporrhaphy, perineum, scar deformity, episiotomy
